Follow the Star - Night 4

God guides us to hope.

Wise Men Worship Jesus – Matthew 2:1-12

The wise men knew the Promised Savior was coming, and they were looking for Him. They knew He was the hope of the world and the star clearly pointed to His location.

  • Jesus talks about His return to earth in Mark 13 (and specifically in verses 32-36). What will serve as the star pointing us to His return?
  • What gives us hope that we will be ready for our Savior when He returns?

ACTIVITY: Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt – Use the Scavenger Hunt Checklist and go on a journey with your family to hunt for Christmas lights.

For Families with Kids:

The wise men knew the Promised Savior was coming, and they were looking for him. They knew He was the hope of the world. His birth didn’t have Christmas trees or ornaments, but it did have something special: light! Some people use light from the stars to help guide them in the right direction. Sailors and explorers used the North Star to figure out which way is north. God used a star to guide the wise men to Jesus. Just like people count on stars to point them in the right direction, we can always count on Jesus, the hope of the world, to guide us.

  • How can God’s hope help to guide you?
  • What can you do now to be ready for Jesus to return again?
