Today’s reading is found in Romans 5:1-5 (NLT)
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit. He gave us the “Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
Jesus went back to the Father after his resurrection, but he didn’t leave his followers alone. Jesus asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit. All three persons of the Trinity work together. In addition to filling our hearts with the love of God, the Holy Spirit teaches us all things and reminds us of Jesus’ words.
The Holy Spirit of God resides within us. God always had a plan from the beginning to be in communion with us. When we submit to the Holy Spirit inside us, our lives are a reflection of who God is so that others can see Him.
Take some time today to focus your mind on Christ, the Messiah, and consider this question:
Do you submit to the Holy Spirit in your life? Do you reflect the image of God?
