Today’s reading is found in James 3:17 (NLT)

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace-loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

Jesus brought us many gifts when he came to earth, among them love, joy, peace, compassion, salvation, and wisdom. He is the tangible expression of God’s wisdom here on earth. What an amazing gift to share and celebrate at Christmas and all year long.

Wisdom is more than knowing; it’s knowing and doing what is right. Wisdom is the ability to apply what we know to be good and true and beneficial to our lives. The Lord is our source of all true knowledge and infinite wisdom. When we seek to know Him and understand things from His perspective, we will have the mind of Christ because of the Holy Spirit living in us. God gives us that kind of wisdom.

Take some time today to focus your mind on Christ, the Messiah, and consider this question:

Do you know and do what is right? Is godly wisdom active in your life?
