Today’s reading is found in Galatians 4:4-7 (NLT)

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.

When we are waiting for something to happen, it seems like time stands still. I wonder if the Israelites felt this way after waiting for the promise of the Messiah to be fulfilled? Over 400 years passed from the last mention of a Messiah before the Messiah came. Many people would have just given up. However, in verse four Paul says, “but when the right time came, God sent his Son…” God’s timing isn’t always the same as our timing.

This season may be a time of unfulfilled requests or situations in your life, but one promise you can trust is that God’s time is always perfect even when we don’t understand it.

Take some time today to focus your mind on Christ, the Messiah, and consider this question:

What is one thing in your life that you need to trust God with, again?
