 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:12-14 (nlt)
As I was reading these words from John’s gospel, twenty-four years ago, the Holy Spirit grabbed my heart, mind, and soul and began working into me a level of faith and passion that I’d not previously known. I made the quality decision to take God at His Word, believe what He said was for us as a church, follow where He was leading, and move whenever He said move. Not once have I regretted that decision.
The journey has been exciting, the joy has been indescribable. And with each passing year God’s purpose for Family Church has grown ever clearer, and the sense of His approval has never been more palpable. I couldn’t feel more confident about the next ten years because I’ve never been more convinced about who God has called us to be and what God has called us to do.
And now it’s time for Family Church to take our next step of faith – our greatest step of faith. It’s time for us to build the bridge over which we will walk into our future, while simultaneously enabling our children and grandchildren to have a tangible, recognizable connection to their church’s past. It is God’s way for us to maintain continuity and stability while pressing on to fulfill the vision He has given us as a church.
I pray that you will take a close and detailed look at what we’ve placed in this brochure. And, then I pray that you will genuinely seek to know what you are supposed to give and how you are supposed to help as we participate with God in making all of this a reality. As great as our sacrifice, even greater will be our reward as we invest our time, talent, and treasure into what we know matters for eternity.
